Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Samaritans Sunday
Each year in the fall, the Ministerial Alliance encourages the member churches to collect an offering in support of the Samaritans of Pauls Valley Food Pantry. Samaritans serves over one thousand families in Garvin county. While sometimes canned food drives can be helpful, Samaritans gets a discount on purchases of food from the Regional Food Bank, so your dollars are more efficiently used by giving them directly to Samaritans through your congregation. Samaritans is also always looking for volunteers. Food distribution is Tuesdays from 10:00am to 1:00 pm and Thursdays from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. If you're free during those times, even for an hour, stop by and help out.
Many churches are taking up their collection this Sunday, September 28, but the particular date is up to each congregation, so check with your pastor as to when and how to donate.
